" For the non-theatrical compositions - important for a complete definition of Puccini's character - the critical edition aims at the systematic publication of all his known pieces. Volume 2 is dedicated to the instrumental works and includes Preludio a orchestra, Preludio sinfonico, Capriccio sinfonico, together with the rather unknown and short Adagetto, a sketch probably from Puccini's study time in Milano.
