Extra Information | First edition reads "Picked by Scott Joplin - Arranged by Chas. N. Daniels." Charles N. Daniels (1878-1943) was the piano plugger for the Kansas City publisher Carl Hoffman when Joplin offered several works for publication in late 1898. Daniels was given an arranger credit for choosing the work for publication. Joplin, a classically trained pianist, was fully capable of notating his own music. Daniels became a rather well-known composer on his own with the 1901 song Hiawatha, a Summer Idyll. |
